Student Ambassadors

What could your group or team do with additional funds?

Giving Day, WPI’s biggest day of giving back, is your opportunity to get support from alumni, parents, and friends of WPI who are looking for ways to give you the best WPI experience possible.

For even more impact, there are a couple ways for you to get involved.

1.  Become a Giving Day ambassador! You'll be able to get great visibility for your group, plus have the opportunity to earn challenge funds. We’ll award the top student ambassadors, as well as the student groups with the most donors overall and the most improved, with additional funding.

2. Nominate yourself or a friend for the Pie-in-the-Face Challenge! This year we have a brand-new opportunity for more challenge dollars and more fun. As donors make their Giving Day gift, they’ll cast a vote for the student, alum, faculty or staff member they want to see get a pie to the face at Homecoming. The top 5 don’t just get a pie to the face—they’ll earn additional challenge dollars for their cause. Interested? Nominate yourself or others here.

Ambassador Q&A:

What do student ambassadors do on Giving Day?

1. Engage. Participate in the student activities in the RCC on Giving Day and encourage your friends and classmates to join you!

2. Share. Reach out to your group’s alumni base and others in your network who’d want to support your cause on Giving Day. We also encourage you to submit a photo to be featured on our Meet the Ambassadors page, providing additional visibility for your cause and allowing potential supporters outside your network to connect with you.

3. Amplify. Encourage your network to leverage challenges and matches throughout the day to make their gifts go further. The Student Experience Leaderboard may be of particular interest. Keep checking back for details and updates!

How do we sign up?
For student groups, we ask that one student representative sign up as an ambassador. All members of the group can work together in encouraging their network to make a gift, instructing them to select the student representative as their ambassador when they give.

What’s the deadline to sign up to become an ambassador?
To set yourself up for success, we recommend signing up by Wednesday, September 6. We’ll do our best to accommodate later sign ups.
